Novapoint is professional design software in the field of civil engineering with a strong emphasis on infrastructure design. It uses AutoCAD as its CAD platform. It is being used by, road, railway, public works departments, consultants, and universities in Europe and Asia.

 

In all markets Novapoint has been customized to meet local design and drawing standards in co-operation with local design authorities and design engineers. Since its introduction in 1988 Novapoint has consistently expanded and improved its line of software for engineers around the world. At present Novapoint have over 10000 licences in 18 countries.

 

Novapoint is being devleoped in close co-operation with professional users in many countries, Road, Rail and Civil Aviation administrations and national universities and research institutions. Novapoint is a modular based design system with a wide range of professional Civil Engineering applications.

In 1984 the engineers who established the Vianova Civil Engineering Network started integrating CAD and advanced mathematic engineering algorithms to make highway design more efficient and flexible.

The algorithms and methods had been used widely in Norway since late 60’s, but this was the first time they where integrated with a graphical CAD engine, and this was the start of the first of the today’s more than 20 Civil Design modules in Novapoint. The aim was to let the users have a complete, professional but at the same efficient and easy to use design software. We also wanted to give our users a flexible solution, and at the same time the ability to share data through all disciplines and lifecycles. This is still our philosophy.
